What is Plantar Fasciitis?
Plantar fasciitis is inflammation of the thick band of tissue (also called a fascia) at the bottom of your foot that runs from your heel to your toes.
Doctors once thought bony growths called heel spurs brought on the pain. Now they believe that heel spurs are the result — not the cause — of plantar fasciitis.
Those who suffer from plantar fasciitis experience a stabbing pain in the bottom of your foot near the heel that is usually worse with the first few steps after waking up or can be triggered after long periods of standing. The pain is usually worse after exercise, not during it.

How to use your Sonic Relief to treat Plantar Fasciitis:
- Apply a quarter size dollop of ultrasound gel over the bottom middle of the affected foot.
- Note: it is recommended to wash your feet before adding the gel as naturally occurring salt in sweat can break down the gel.
- Turn on the Sonic Relief device to the “high” setting.
- Apply the sound head directly over the gel and move slowly back and forth toward the heel on the bottom of the foot 3 – 4 inches.
- Add more gel if the gel begins to dry out.
- Sonic Relief will shut off after 10 minutes at which time the treatment is complete.
- Wipe the gel from skin and the sound head with a soft cloth or paper towel.
- You may treat both feet one after the other if you suffer Plantar Fasciitis on both feet.
- Put the Sonic Relief back in the charger to be ready anytime you need it for plantar fasciitis or any other soft tissue pain or injury.
- Treat each area up to 3 times per day for 2 weeks. Then treat as needed.
